Overview:

The Corporate Counsel – Commercial role will be a part of Mitel's global Legal Team and act as a business partner to international stakeholders. With a primary focus in the UK & International region, the Corporate Counsel – Commercial role will support the UK & International sales team on all aspects of the sales process, including responding to public and private sector RFPs and direct sales deals. In addition, Mitel may require legal support across a number of other functions including HR, facilities, trade compliance, litigation, procurement, corporate law /M&A etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support the bid team in review, response and negotiation of public and private sector RFPs; support the sales team in respect of any direct sales deals and with sales through our Channel Partnerships.

  • Reviewing terms and comments, drafting, negotiations of hardware and software, cloud, managed services, maintenance and data processing agreements.

  • Drafting and improving templates.

  • Meeting business objectives, by working closely with various teams within Mitel (sales, finance, procurement, product management, information security, data protection and compliance), while ensuring risks are mitigated and managed.

  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and corporate policy.

  • Developing Mitel’s policies to align with regulatory requirements and internal strategic direction.

  • Supporting corporate secretarial and corporate governance needs.

Requirements:

  • Industry or In-House experience supporting legal negotiations for the sale and/or procurement of hardware and software, cloud, managed services, maintenance and data processing agreements.

  • Experience or desire to develop skills in any other functional areas.

  • Must be UK qualified.

  • Knowledge of and experience in public procurement law is preferable.

  • Self-directed and motivated with a strong ability to multitask and work under pressure.

  • Practical and solutions oriented.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work harmoniously in a diverse and changing work environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.

  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Focus on continuous process improvement.

  • Experience in an international environment.

  • German or other language skills are desirable.
