The Consumer Experience Group looking for a Creative Services Copywriter Intern within the Creative Services Department.

The ideal copywriter intern candidate will have the opportunity to work on real projects, collaborate with seasoned professionals and gain valuable experience in the financial services industry.  They will help create written communications to support creative projects. A successful candidate will hone their creative viewpoint, have writing experience with an interest in creating high-quality and emotive copy. Candidates will be flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments. Interns may work within direct mail, digital, brand and social media consumer touch points. The role is very “hands-on” and continuously busy with multiple projects and will collaborate on projects with the Design Intern.

Job Responsibilities:

The Creative Services Copywriter Intern will participate as an active member of our Consumer Experience Team and will be exposed to all aspects of creative, including direct mail, product marketing development, and digital in a business environment. The intern will actively contribute to cross-functional projects and will also plan and execute individual value-added projects throughout the summer supporting TruStage. Additional responsibilities will be developed in conjunction with the intern’s interests, skills, and desired learning areas.

The Consumer Experience Creative Internship encompasses opportunities to network with Media, Market Research, Customer Experience, Digital, and Creative Development teams in various consumer channels.

The copywriter intern could be involved in the following activities:

  • Assist Creative Manager or Copy Director with writing or editing copy for specific audiences based on objectives outlined in the creative brief.
  • Learns and adheres to approved brand and voice guidelines, and maintain consistent tone and voice in materials
  • Creates accurate, descriptive, and emotive copy within assigned deadlines.
  • Aid in proofreading, coordination, and delivery of project collateral
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver copy upon request and participate in discussions that inform decision making
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with team members, designers, and production partners to achieve project objectives.
  • Report on successes and challenges of completed projects and understands next steps
  • Learn how Creative uses results from previous marketing initiatives and tests to provide recommendations on future creative development

Job Requirements:

•          Working towards an associate or bachelor's degree in creative fields of Marketing, Creative Writing, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or Communications or similar certificates or work experience.
•          Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
•          Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
•          Excellent communications skills
•          Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn

Preferred Experience:

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and capabilities:

  • Experience with advertising, content creation, or digital marketing.
  • Understanding of basic copywriting elements
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, emphasis in using MS Word
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong grasp of AP style and ability to create emotive copy with a compelling call to action.
  • Must exhibit intellectual curiosity and critical thinking
    Strong proofing and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Enthusiastic and positive team outlook and ability to work independently with direction.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail skills with the ability to work productively to meet competing priorities and set deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with others in finding creative approaches.

Base Salary Range:

$18.00 - $28.00
