The opportunity.

We are seeking a Cloud Networking Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading fintech company. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and networking, contributing to the design and implementation of robust, scalable cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate closely with DevOps and other engineering teams to enhance the automation and reliability of our systems, while helping to scale our cloud-native services.

As a Cloud Networking Engineer, you will have the chance to work across major cloud providers, integrating cloud-native services, automation tools, and cutting-edge technologies to support a rapidly expanding infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability, security, and performance of our systems, ensuring that our network infrastructure remains resilient and efficient.

The ideal candidate is passionate about software engineering, comfortable with containerization, and familiar with cloud-native ecosystems. You will be expected to understand networking concepts and principles but also have a strong software development background, focusing on automation, tooling, and system design. Responsibilities to include:

  • Cloud Networking & System Design: Design, build, and operate networking solutions within hybrid cloud environments, integrating cloud-native services with software engineering best practices.
  • Automation & Tooling: Work closely with DevOps teams to build automation tools that enhance infrastructure management, reduce toil, and improve operational efficiency. Drive the elimination of manual processes through automation.
  • Network Integration & Optimization: Leverage your networking knowledge to integrate cloud services and hardware networks, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability across multi-cloud environments.
  • Collaboration & CI/CD: Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native services and integrate network automation tools into the pipeline to support fast, reliable deployments.
  • Software Engineering & Cloud APIs: Build tools and develop services for cloud platforms using languages such as Go, Python, and TypeScript. Develop and optimize cloud APIs to enhance infrastructure automation and improve network functionality.
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Leverage your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex networking and cloud infrastructure issues. Analyze telemetry data, such as netflow and packet captures, to identify and resolve network-related issues quickly.
  • Network Security & Monitoring: Implement and improve network observability, monitoring systems, and alerting solutions to maintain the integrity and security of the network infrastructure. Identify and mitigate threats such as DDoS attacks and SQL injections.
  • Cloud-Native Networking: Work with container-based networking solutions (e.g., Kubernetes, service meshes) and ensure that networking solutions are well-suited for modern cloud-native environments.

About you.

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud networking or software engineering, with strong familiarity in both networking and systems design.
  • Experience working with cloud-native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices) and implementing cloud APIs in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and DevOps practices. Experience with CI/CD pipelines is essential.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-performance, secure cloud environments.
  • Strong software engineering skills: Comfortable developing and maintaining automation tools, with a focus on reducing toil and improving operational efficiency. Proficiency in Go for cloud-native work is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with networking protocols (e.g., BGP, DNS, firewalls) and a deep understanding of cloud networking technologies in one or more public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with DevOps best practices, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with network observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), network monitoring tools, and troubleshooting complex network issues using telemetry data.
  • Experience with network security tools, including next-gen firewalls, DDOS protection, and managing VPN solutions.
  • TypeScript is the language of choice for system design and tooling, with Python as the default for automation tasks and Go being essential when working with cloud-native environments.

Desired Experience:

  • Working with cloud networking automation (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
  • Experience in network observability using platforms such as Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Background in managing mobile-user VPN solutions for large numbers of users.
  • Familiarity with IPAM tools like Infoblox or NetBox.
  • Knowledge of next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, etc.) and container-based networking.

Location and Work Environment:

  • This is a remote role;candidates in EST (or within 1 hour of EST) are preferred.
  • This position offers autonomy and the opportunity to collaborate with senior engineers and industry experts in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Employee benefits.

  • Highly competitive compensation
