Job Description

The Stanley Black & Decker Supply Chain is in an exciting period of change and growth within the company. To navigate this next phase, we’re seeking a growth-oriented and highly organized Chief of Staff to partner closely with our Chief Supply Chain Officer and Supply Chain Leadership Team to coordinate strong alignment and accountability across the organization for the priority initiatives. From day one, you will be able to make an immediate impact on the execution of our short and long-term initiatives in terms of streamlining, productivity, strategic projects, and communication between departments.

You will be an extension of the Supply Chain Executive leadership team, working across all functions (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, EHS and Quality) and will ensure roadmaps are executed, constantly assessing risks and opportunities and implementing solutions. You will be coordinating key routines (monthly performance review, top initiatives and capabilities) for the T&O Supply Chain, integration with and support of similar routines in the broader Tools & Outdoor business as well as the Global Supply Chain organization, act as key accountability partner for the Chief Supply Chain Officer and their direct team. The ideal candidate should have a strong bias for action, attention to detail and program / project management capabilities as well as a strong ability to build and support broad network relationships. 

As a Chief of Staff, you’ll be part of our Global Supply Chain team working as a hybrid employee.    You’ll get to:  

  • Business Processes & Activities
    • Partner closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO), providing exceptional project management to key business initiatives, providing execution and thought leadership
    • Continuously improve the governance structure, processes and metrics for effective tracking of the business’ performance against strategic goals
    • Organize, review, and lead Global Supply Chain Tools & Outdoor (T&O) rituals and routines 
    • Own the MBO process and ensure alignment with global supply chain and business goals
    • Provide the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) with counsel and as-needed support.
    • Plan and execute short- and long-range calendar planning with CSCO executive assistant 
  • Cross Functional Organizational Partnerships
    • Partner with the strategy office to ensure T&O compliance within operating model, strategic roadmaps, and strategic processes 
    • Serve as a key integration point between the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team, the Tools & Outdoor Leadership team and the Supply Chain function in Tools & Outdoor
    • Responsible for driving cross functional collaboration to ensure the T&O Global Supply Chain is delivering performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People.
  • Performance Management
    • KPI coordination and management 
    • Build and maintain the T&O central T&E 
  • Strategic Planning
    • Assist with driving compliance to global supply chain strategic roadmaps (BU, functional, regional)
    • Develop and execute project plans including resource requirements, deliverables, milestones, and completion timelines
    • Partner with strategic tags within T&O BU 
    • Partner closely with GSC Chief of Staff and Strategy office
    • Partner and be a voice of GSC CSCO with Supply Chain and T&O Brand strategy teams
  • Communications
    • Partner with communications team to set communications agenda within T&O leadership team and required Town Halls
    • Support strategic event planning and execution
    • Prepare materials for CSCO to execute strategic engagements

The Person:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain or related business discipline required
  • 10+ years of supply chain experience required or 5+ years of client facing management consulting 
  • MBA highly preferred
  • Extensive operating experience creating and implementing large scale strategic processes 
  • Strategic planning – strategic thinking, long-range planning, operational planning
  • Partner with business leaders outside of global supply chain to ensure seamless execution of strategic programs

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $113,100-$226,200 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
