Fictiv is hiring a Business Operations Manager to join Fictiv’s Founders Office. In this role you will be a critical business partner to our CEO in driving efficient and effective business operations, and leading key strategic initiatives that are critical for the business. 

Sitting at the intersection of strategy, product, and operations, this is a unique opportunity to gain a front-row seat to high-growth leadership and building a company.

You will report to our Founders Office.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Strategic Alignment & Execution:
    • Lead the execution of key business projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, while aligning with overall company strategy.
    • Track progress of strategic initiatives, highlight potential roadblocks, and make data-driven recommendations to leadership.
    • Lead analyses that help inform our short and long-term strategic outlook and decision-making.
  • Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
    • Identify new methods and processes which will result in increased efficiencies and/or reduced non value added activity.
    • Own the execution of cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between departments and proper resource allocation.
  • Cross-Departmental Leadership & Coordination:
    • Serve as the central point of contact for operational activities, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across global teams.
    • Work closely with department heads to ensure key projects are aligned with company goals and that teams are appropriately resourced.
    • Act as the liaison between the CEO and senior leadership team to ensure smooth communication and decision-making.
  • Executive Support & Strategy Implementation:
    • Provide day-to-day operational support to the CEO and executive team, ensuring that schedules, priorities, and key initiatives are efficiently managed.
    • Help manage strategic planning cycles, including quarterly and annual business reviews, board meetings, and other critical leadership touchpoints.
    • Assist in identifying, escalating, and addressing organizational challenges, helping drive change management and organizational growth.
  • Project Management & Oversight:
    • Lead large-scale, company-wide projects (e.g., organizational growth) and ensure they align with business priorities.
    • Ensure transparency in progress and status of projects through regular reporting, updates, and meetings with the leadership team.
    • Manage key operational KPIs to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and adjust plans as needed.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Leverage data and analytics to track performance and identify operational trends, areas for improvement, and new opportunities.
    • Make recommendations for continuous improvement based on operational data, company growth projections, and market changes.

Desired Traits

  • Bilingual in Japanese required
  • Masters degree preferred; BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 4-8 years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, venture capital, private equity, and/or strategy & operations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, with strong executive presence
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with data
  • Strategic thinker with ability to speak intelligentlyExcel at working through influence, winning the trust of senior executives and cross-functional counterparts, effectively moving initiatives forward with multiple-stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong bias to action and ability to work both quickly and to a high quality in ambiguous environment with a lot of change
  • Highly collaborative, not afraid to roll up their sleeves to do what’s necessary to make the team successful
  • Able to work work in-person out of our Oakland office when needed

Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000 per year
