This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Broadband Funding Intern intern to join our Commercial Solutions team for the summer months. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning and is expected to last 90 days.
In this role you’ll learn the broadband industry funding landscape, work across several Calix teams and interact with customers and prospects. This is an exciting opportunity for any aspiring Business or Finance, or Marketing student to come into a high growth, fast paced environment and get real hands-on experience on the Calix funding team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about data integrity and problem solving.  Your analysis will lead to reports that will be uploaded in the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) system as well as drive email campaigns, sales outreach, and a series of online educational opportunities. The ideal candidate should be persistent, focused, organized, and interested in digging into internet sites and collecting data that will drive revenue. Experience with funding or using mapping software would be ideal but not required.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Working with key internal stakeholders to support customer initiatives
  • Become an expert on researching federal and state government funding websites
  • Build and use internet search tools to efficiently gather targeted funding information
  • Organize educational material for internal (CRM) and external company websites
  • Create data-driven funding training materials for sales and customers.  
  • Assist in funding consultations with broadband service providers
  • Assist with SFDC general data clean up initiatives  
  • Assist Customer Operations Teams with individual territory initiatives 
  • Comfortable working in a changing business environment with the consistent introduction of new customers and funding programs

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. Preference will be given to students who have completed their Junior or Senior years with previous internship or work experience.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent online capabilities 
  • Collaborative and curious. Confidence to communicate and interview subject matter experts.  
  • Detail oriented. Experience in a role or project requiring analytical problem solving and data analysis 
  • Able to work effectively in a remote environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity and fast changing environments 
  • Microsoft Office software suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Beginner to intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups and formulas    
  • Salesforce or CRM Experience preferred but not required 
  • Working in a financial role in the past is a plus 
  • Excited to work with funding and related mapping platforms is a plus
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

21.85 - 28.75 USD Hourly

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

19.00 - 25.00 USD Hourly

Regional plus NY:

17.10 - 22.50 USD Hourly
