Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over one million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving tens of millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 13+ U.S. states.

On the Waymo Marketing team, you will help to connect people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to not only grow Waymo's brand from the ground up, but to also build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and creative assets to deliver messages that matter to our audience, communicated through anything from video content, to social media interactions, to immersive physical experiences. We also shape Waymo's go-to-market initiatives, helping to transform Waymo into a thriving business with a growing user base.

In this hybrid role, you will report into our Head of Marketing.

You will:

  • Drive an insights-driven content strategy that helps Waymo unlock rapid brand growth
  • Write compelling narratives about our brand and technology for different audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Oversee and directly manage all digital communications including Waymo websites and newsletters
  • Monitor and report on the performance of brand programs to senior executives and XFN collaborators, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Oversee cohesive brand activation plans across social media, brand advertising, and integrations into culture and entertainment
  • Provide mentorship to brand marketing and social media leads, setting the team's goals and strategic vision

You have:

  • 14+ years' experience in content strategy, brand-building, and social media marketing
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (MBA preferred)
  • Experience building marketing plans for global or high-growth stage brands
  • Applied use of consumer insights, marketing analytics and measurement models
  • Experience motivating and influencing others at all levels of an organization, both directly and across teams
  • Passionate individual contributor who will lead important workstreams while also mentoring and inspiring the broader team

We prefer:

  • Visionary, with experience building scalable workstreams and processes from scratch
  • Masterful at crafting compelling narratives
  • Expertise in the technology category
  • Experience at both client companies and at marketing agencies
  • Success stories partnering with creative teams to bring brand strategies to life
