Job Overview:
Lexia Learning is seeking an AWS Account Administrator to oversee and optimize the management of our internal AWS accounts. This role focuses on defining and maintaining secure access roles, managing costs effectively, and ensuring compliance with governance best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in AWS account operations, cost management, and policy administration to ensure efficient and secure use of cloud resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the organization's internal AWS accounts, ensuring proper account structure and compliance with best practices.
  • Monitor and enforce policies for account usage, security, and governance.
  • Define and maintain AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, ensuring secure and appropriate access for users and teams.
  • Conduct regular audits of access permissions and implement adjustments to meet business and security requirements.
  • Track AWS usage and costs across accounts to ensure alignment with budget and organizational goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through tools like Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances.
  • Generate and share detailed cost reports with stakeholders to provide transparency and insights.
  • Ensure all AWS operations align with regulatory and organizational compliance requirements.
  • Implement and manage tagging strategies to improve visibility into resource usage and cost allocation.
  • Act as a point of contact for AWS-related questions and issues within the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, SRE team, Developers, and DBOps to align AWS management practices with broader objectives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on AWS account management processes, including role definitions and cost management strategies.
  • Provide training to internal teams on AWS best practices and cost optimization techniques.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience managing AWS accounts in a multi-account or enterprise environment.
  • Exceptional knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, AWS Organizations, Billing Console, and AWS Cost Explorer.
  • Experience implementing and managing cost optimization strategies in AWS environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud governance, security best practices, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch or third-party solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
