You will focus on conducting generative and evaluative research to investigate platform-level information architecture and UI to inform menu navigation, in-experience controls and use of iconography, enabling users to efficiently complete core tasks across the platform, like finding desired experiences and engaging in safe communication. You’ll provide recommendations that also adhere to Roblox’s design system, ensuring a seamless experience across all desired tasks.

You will:

  • Deeply understand the user experiences for a diverse global audience through seamless cross-product journeys, engaging learning experiences, and delightful interactions that align with our mission.
  • Conduct research projects, with senior guidance, and possess the ability to translate sophisticated data into easy to understand insights and product feature recommendations.
  • Work with Data Science & Analytics and Marketing to triangulate behavioral data with attitudinal data and market trends
  • Work with Design, Product and Engineering partners to discuss and agree the scope research and give concise feedback on planning and product direction.
  • Work in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to evolve research processes and foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration and innovation.
  • Have opportunities to present your work to Product Group leadership.
  • Report to the Group Research Lead

You have:

  • 2+ years of professional career experience as a UX or product researcher with at least a Bachelor’s in HCI, psychology, marketing research, sociology, anthropology, or other social science discipline with an emphasis on research, or equivalent work experience. Or hold a PhD in one of the fields named above
  • Knowledge about a variety of research methods and comfortable enough with qualitative methods to identify the correct methodology for the question at hand. Bonus if you have experience with quantitative survey research and can conduct statistical analyses in SPSS, R or Python.
  • A growth mindset, curious and always expanding your skills by learning new tools and techniques

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$123,930$156,130 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
