Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Director, Leadership Communications to join our Communications team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

As an Associate Director, Leadership Communications you will be responsible for driving, developing, and executing strategic employee communications with the Communications organization. You will be responsible for evolving the Leader Communications function of the Internal Communications team. You will stand up new channels and engagement strategies to align our senior leaders and managers to Oscar’s strategic objectives, drive overall change management across departments, and ensure our people live and demonstrate Oscar’s ethos across our stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including people, marketing, insurance business, technology, operations, and strategy teams, to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with brand standards.

You will report to a Communications leader.

Work Location:

Oscar is a blended work culture where everyone, regardless of work type or location, feels connected to their teammates, our culture and our mission.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $129,600 - $170,100 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive employee and leader communications strategies aligned to company strategy and in support of highest priority business growth objectives.
  • Drive scaled leader and manager enablement to cascade relevant messages to all levels of team members, further activating leaders as carriers of our business line messages and strategies through a variety of mediums and channels.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support leader and manager communications across departments, including all hands, manager calls, leadership meetings, presentations, talking points, leadership messages / emails, videos, organizational announcements, among others.
  • Engage with leaders, managers, and employees, championing the best ideas and feedback to make the company move faster and with more impact.
  • Advance the Internal Communications function by incorporating best practices in communication and across the healthcare technology industry (people, processes, expectations, work product) and proactively identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Create consistent tone and voice across all internal communications, ensuring consistency and connection to larger company thought leadership and messages.
  • Monitor and evaluate results of internal communications programs and initiatives — leveraging data, metrics, and new technologies to track progress and feed the business insights for continuous improvement.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
