The Actuary provides actuarial support across a broad range of actuarial and business needs for specific product lines. The Actuary works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Actuary may be responsible for any combination of valuation, pricing, analytics, forecasting, risk, compliance, and operations. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

The Actuary will be involved in the Medicaid Actuarial forecasting process, overseeing the aggregation of state-level forecasting to a national view. The associate will be responsible for maintaining centralized forecasting tools and summaries that will be used in submitting final financial forecasts. The Actuary may also be involved in evaluating actual experience compared to both pricing and forecasted expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, recent and relevant work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations
  • MAAA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)
  • 8 or more years of technical experience
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with following tools: SAS/SQL/VBA/Excel
  • Experience with oversight on key processes involving structured timelines
  • Experience with Medicaid

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$129,300 - $177,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
