Enable Internet businesses to sell across borders

We’re tackling a key challenge for all Internet businesses today: navigating the changing landscape of tax. In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

So much of our economy today and tomorrow exists online. The internet economy has grown 6x over the last 10 years and software development productivity is only positioned to accelerate. Companies should be able to transact with customers everywhere. Anrok is building the tools behind the scenes that make compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small.

Anrok connects with billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. This is an individual contributor role, with support from external accounting contractors, and will be instrumental in managing our transition to accrual accounting, improving financial reporting, and establishing scalable financial controls. If you're excited about rolling up your sleeves and driving impactful change in a fast-growing company, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting: Oversee and execute this transition, working closely with external accounting contractors to ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition.

  • Prepare and review financial statements: Deliver accurate monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Support daily financial and accounting operations: Manage billing approvals, reimbursements, payables, payroll, and other key accounting processes to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Improve revenue recognition processes: Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to enhance billing statements, ensure proper revenue categorization, and streamline data for improved financial insights.

  • Establish financial controls and processes: Implement best practices for internal controls, automating workflows, and integrating tools (e.g., Bill.com, Brex).

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with teams across the company to ensure financial accuracy and support decision-making.

What excites us:

  • Experience: 4-7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment

  • Usage-Based Revenue Model Expertise: Experience with usage-based revenue models is a must-have, as accurate revenue recognition based on customer usage is critical to our business.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, with the ability to analyze large datasets. Familiarity with billing systems and automation tools is a plus.

  • GAAP Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and experience with revenue recognition practices, including ASC 606.

  • Independent Problem-Solver: Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of managing complex projects independently, with external support.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

  • Startup Mindset: Comfortable working in a lean, remote environment and building processes from the ground up.

What we offer:

  • The equity upside of an early-stage startup with the product-market fit of a later-stage company.

  • Daily lunch and snacks for those working out of our San Francisco office.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100%.

  • One Medical membership covered, flexible sick benefits, and more.

  • Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences, as well as a curious team to share your learnings with.

  • Annual team offsites and in-person opportunities around our growing Anrok hubs

  • Home office setup stipend to ensure you have the equipment you need to thrive at work.
