Verbling’s mission is to empower people all over the world to become fluent in a foreign language. We use online live video technology to help people develop their skills together with teachers and students on a global scale. The core team is based in San Francisco, California. The teachers and students who make our mission possible are spread across six continents.
Hack Reactor is an immersive full-stack development program that teaches students at our numerous campuses in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, New York City, and through our Remote course. Throughout our 12-week program, students master advanced HTML and CSS, front-end JavaScript frameworks like Backbone and Angular, server development with Node, and databases with SQL and Mongo during 800 hours of instruction, projects, and hands-on work. Hack Reactor graduates work as mid-to-senior level programmers at top Bay Area companies, including Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and more.
CodeHS is a platform for helping high schools teach computer science. We provide a comprehensive solution to schools looking to improve or create a computer science program. We offer web-based curriculum for Introduction to Computer Science and AP Computer Science classes, tools for teachers to manage their classroom, and professional development to help teachers learn to teach coding. Preparing the next generation of learners. We started ClassOwl to help students leverage technology to form better time management, organization, and communication habits in school. ClassOwl is an interactive assignment and planning application that bridges the information gap between teachers and their students. ClassOwl allows teachers to communicate what is expected once. The student has their ClassOwl planner across every device with built in homework reminders and deadlines. It frees up the teacher’s time because students have exactly the information they need to come to class more prepared. Our student pilots resulted in grade improvements, fewer late assignments, and less daily stress. He holds a first-class honors degree in maths and psychology from Cambridge University and an MBA and MA in Education from Stanford. He has won several awards, including the Lamor prize and the Queen's medal. Catalin Voss Before co-founding Ello, Catalin was a PhD candidate in AI at Stanford University where he worked on social good projects and built digital therapies for developmental conditions. He co-founded and sold two ML startups, DukaConnect and Sension. He has won the Lemelson-MIT Grad Student prize, Stanford's Kennedy Medal, Forbes' 30 under 30, and Business Insider's 40 under 40. He moved to California from Germany at age 17 and now lives in SF with his partner Ruby and dog Ed.
