Roblox might be a real-life example of the “bro is living in 2050” meme.

Three dimensions aren’t enough for the future of this company. Roblox is working toward 4D generative AI, with interaction as the fourth dimension.

While it might sound like lofty science fiction, the idea is a sound extension of the metaverse in terms of technicalility.

A blog on the company’s website explains that Roblox leverages a unique simulation model built for interaction.

The challenge the team faces might look something like this: An avatar in the metaverse goes to put on clothing that was not designed for it. In a 4D generative AI system, those clothes would automatically adjust to fit the avatar — something that is difficult right now. The company’s Avatar AutoSetup tool is what it sees as an early solution to this problem.

“With 4D generative AI, Roblox has opened up a new frontier for experience and asset creation,” notes the Roblox website. “While the challenges are new, our process for innovation is well honed. We combine our top-notch internal research and development teams, university collaborations and rapid iteration on prototypes in partnership with our community.”

Joining the team at Roblox definitely means looking forward. Who knows, maybe the company will build the tech that everyone really is using in 2050.

Roblox is a gaming platform that allows people to come together to create, connect and express themselves in immersive 3D experiences built by a global community.

Players Turned Pros: It’s not uncommon for Roblox players to join the team later in life as developers, especially considering that Roblox is ranked as one of the top online entertainment platforms for audiences under the age of 18. Roblox is excited to teach more users how to build their own games and tools, too. The company has invested $10 million to help develop three games specifically for middle, high school and college students to engage with in the classroom. The goal is to teach the next generation how to start working and building in the metaverse.
