On any given team, nearly one-third is planning an exit from their job. It might not be that extreme, planned or direct, but PwC’s Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2024 found that 28 percent of respondents said they are likely to change employers over the next year.

It might seem like a high percentage but it’s not surprising when we look at another survey that took a detailed look at mental health, workplace culture and time away from work that can offer rest.

The APA’s 2023 Work in America Survey found that only 35 percent of respondents said they work at a place where breaks are encouraged. The study found that 60 percent of employers don’t respect time off — and only 29 percent have managers that encourage them to take care of their mental health.

It’s not surprising that nearly one in three people are looking for employers in the sweet spot — ones that prioritize mental health, are growing and will offer new challenges.
