San Francisco-based tech company CircleCI announced Tuesday that it raised $100 million in a Series F round led by Greenspring Associates. The latest raise brings the unicorn’s valuation to $1.7 billion.
The continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) platform helps developers rapidly release code by automating the build, test and deploy process. Alongside the funding news, the company also announced its acquisition of release orchestration platform Vamp.
Following the acquisition CircleCI hopes to be a one-stop shop for DevOps automation and change validation needs.
“At CircleCI, we recognize that the world of software development has evolved, and we are evolving right along with it. The emphasis on change validation is at the core of where we see the CI/CD market heading,” Jim Rose, the company’s CEO, said in a statement.
As businesses across industries continue to transition to a digital-first world, the company expects its software to be adopted at a much higher rate.
“This new capital will allow us to double down on our focus,” Rose continued. “It also opens doors for business growth opportunities in three areas that we see as the next frontier of software development: continuous validation, data and insights, and managing software complexity.”
Since the company’s $100 million Series E it has doubled its global headcount to 550. Following the latest raise, the company plans to continue hiring across departments. CircleCI currently has over 60 positions up for grabs with a majority of roles available on its engineering and product teams.
Founded in 2011, CircleCI has raised $315.5 million in financing to date, according to the company.
