Jeff Currier has joined fintech company Chime as the chief technology officer. With a background in the fintech sector, Currier brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at companies such as Galileo Financial Technologies, SoFi, Amazon Web Services, Twitter and Microsoft.
Most recently, Currier served as CTO at Galileo, a SoFi company, leading the company’s cloud transition. Before SoFi acquired Galileo, Currier was SoFi’s VP of engineering. In his new role at Chime, Currier will oversee the engineering organization, focusing on enhancing product deployment, innovation and shipping speed. His primary goal is to deliver high-value products to Chime’s members in collaboration with the chief product officer.
Currier’s decision to join Chime was influenced by his desire to tackle meaningful challenges within the fintech space, particularly those that resonate with his personal experiences growing up in Flint, Michigan. He is motivated by Chime’s mission to assist its members, many of whom face financial challenges similar to those he understands personally.
