According to a 2022 survey by Paychex, onboarding new employees is a make-or-break scenario.

Paychex’s research shows that 52 percent of employees found a recent onboarding experience satisfactory, with only 39 percent of those employees reporting that their onboarding experience was “clear.” These results are even less positive for remote employees — 60 percent of whom felt “disoriented” after onboarding.

Gonzalo Saad’s experience at TrueML was different.

“The onboarding process at TrueML was super smooth,” he said. Attention to detail and commitment to clarity from TrueML’s people team meant that Saad began the first steps of onboarding  feeling confident and prepared.

“Even during the hiring process, every step was clear and precise. The feedback was given in a personal and timely manner. After the contract was signed, the computer was sent with proper instructions,” he said.

What TrueML Does

TrueML is a technology company focused on building software products for debt collection, using  data science, machine learning and customer experience data to generate humane and effective solutions.

Saad’s positive onboarding experience affirmed that TrueML was a great fit with myriad opportunities.

“As soon as I got the first recruiting email for the position, I knew it was the company I wanted to join,” he said. “When I actually got onboarded, everything confirmed my decision: my team, the culture, the technology, the growth opportunities for me in the system architecture. Overall, I’d say the company culture is a huge yes!”

Senior Engineer II • TrueML

On the very first day I was welcomed in a warm and fun meeting with the people team, along with my new team. It was a laid-back, comfortable environment, and I felt I had already been in the company for months! The presentation given by the people team was informative and precise and showed the values and priorities of the company clearly.

What pleasantly surprised you after you joined?

A lot of aspects surprised me for the better. The fact that TrueML’s core values are always present in all-hands meetings and executive presentations shows that the company knows not only what it wants to achieve but also how it wants to achieve it. The mission is super clear, and that helped me focus on what’s important in my work.

How much I enjoy the people is one of the other surprises I had. TrueML has such welcoming, fun and empathetic coworkers. Additionally, it is so awesome that TrueML cares a lot about the human aspect, not only regarding its employees but also the consumers it serves.

How have you hit the ground running since you joined, and what are you most excited to accomplish over the next quarter or year?

I joined as a senior software engineer. It’s been just two months since I joined, and I have already had good discussions with my team and been able to contribute on several features and improvements. I’m excited to learn what’s best here and contribute the good practices I’ve implemented during my career. The environment is collaborative enough to be heard and also to learn from. It is a win-win situation.

I’m really looking forward to improving my software infrastructure and architecture knowledge. Luckily I have awesome teammates to learn from. This company offers a different way of doing things than where I have had the opportunity to work with in the past, and it is great!
