Senior Intuit executive Alex Chriss is taking over as PayPal’s new president and CEO. He is taking over the reins from Dan Schulman, who has led the company since 2014.
At Intuit, Chriss oversaw the departments responsible for products including QuickBooks and Mailchimp, and accounting for more than half of Intuit’s revenue, according to a press release announcing his new appointment at PayPal. (Chriss also led Intuit’s 2021 acquisition of Mailchimp.)
PayPal board chair John Donahoe cited Chriss’ experience in product development and past work serving small businesses as standout qualifications for his new position at PayPal.
The appointment will be effective September 27, at which time Chriss will also join the payments company’s board.
