When it comes to tying the knot, there’s no shortage of ways to make the big day special. However, so much freedom can also make nailing down specific plans quite challenging. San Francisco’s Joy wants to help couples stress less and actually enjoy planning their wedding celebrations.

The company pulled in a fresh round of capital on Wednesday to enhance its wedding planning and online registry platform. Joy raised a $60 million Series B led by General Catalyst, bringing its total capital to date to $106.5 million.

Joy’s platform offers couples a range of personalized services geared toward making their wedding planning experience a breeze. Its solution allows users to design customizable websites for weddings and other events, build registries and guest lists, receive gifts and create digital or printed invitations. The company also offers a mobile app where users can send out event reminders to their guests.

Its comprehensive solution has seen a generous increase in adoption. According to Joy, it has recorded significant year-over-year growth with 3x as many U.S. couples planning their weddings on its platform. Additionally, the amount of wedding gifts going through its registry offering has increased by 400 percent during the same period.

The company’s initial website-building offering has also evolved over time into a full-blown solution for modernizing wedding planning as a whole.

“We started Joy for our family, building wedding planning tools and a reimagined registry, but we have grown far beyond that,” Vishal Joshi, Joy’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “This financing will accelerate our mission to help the world celebrate better, using intuitive technology and design to make planning the most memorable events of your life more joyful.”

In striving toward its mission, Joy will double its headcount with its new capital and fuel continued product development. The company plans to build out new solutions based on user requests for life events, including weddings and various other celebrations.

Joy isn’t alone in its mission to make wedding planning a seamless experience. Dallas-based Fêtefully connects couples looking to have affordable ceremonies with wedding planners seeking extra income. With Austin’s Wedy, couples can use its online marketplace to book and pay for wedding vendors.

As Joy continues to enhance its own solution, the company is looking to hire talent across several teams, as listed on its site. Joy currently has open positions within its product, product design, engineering and marketing departments.
