San Francisco-based sales tech platform Chorus.ai raised $45 million in a Series C round announced on Tuesday. The round was led by Georgian Partners.
The conversation intelligence platform uses AI technology to identify language patterns and conversational themes within sales conversations. Every call transcript that’s added to the Chorus system helps its AI automatically improve, all without any human supervision.
By encouraging sales representatives to focus on customers, rather than on taking notes, Chorus.ai hopes that its technology can increase workplace productivity and improve customer satisfaction rates for its clients.
“We help [our clients] bring their best to every interaction and the voice of the customer to every decision, which in turn creates strong, smart relationships,” Chorus.ai CEO Jim Benton said in a statement.
The company will use the additional capital to expand its go-to market team, in addition to investing in product research, Benton told Crunchbase News.
The company’s recommendation engine is used by teams at GitLab, MongoDB and Qualtrics to analyze sales calls and detect risk language. Information gathered from the calls can help businesses craft more effective coaching strategies for their sales and customer service teams.
“The challenges businesses are facing in 2020 have created a renewed urgency to strengthen customer relationships, streamline sales handoffs, and enhance collaboration within teams,” Simon Chong, managing partner at Georgian Partners, said in a statement.
According to the company, Chorus.ai has raised $85.2 million in venture capital to date. The company has additional offices in Tel Aviv, Toronto, and Boston.
