DevSecOps Engineer

Uplandme, Inc. was founded in 2018 by three serial entrepreneurs. The game launched into open beta in January 2020 and became the largest blockchain game just eight months later. Available for iOS, Android, and the mobile web, Upland uses blockchain technology to power "true ownership" of digital assets.
To expand its reach beyond blockchain aficionados and towards a mass-market audience, we are looking for a highly skilled Dev SecOps Engineer to drive security throughout the Company's Product, Engineering and Support organizations and simultaneously manage reporting requirements around security deliverables for multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop key performance metrics, prioritize tasking, implement short and long-term roadmaps and visions, and build strong relationships with customers and partners
  • Navigate complex security problems and drive relevant teams to take required corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, effort, and time necessary
  • Deploy updates, fixes, and patches as needed
  • Design efficient processes to deploy resources to the cloud
  • Support CI/CD and other automation initiatives (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, etc.)
  • Support cloud provisioning and configuration automation (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Provide expertise and best practices for implementing cloud security and product security
  • Help the team balance technical risks against business needs and be able to articulate risks and mitigations to members of leadership at various levels
  • Balance addressing tactical problems while also maintaining a strategic focus on future initiatives and help define areas for improvement and eliminate technical debt
  • Collaborate with other leaders to align and solve challenges across multiple teams
  • Foster a "customer first" mindset by delivering outcomes that delight our customers


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Information Security
  • 3+ years of professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications, including flavors of Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with architecture on complex heterogeneous environments in cloud platforms
  • Experience with one or more languages including Python, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containers and security including OPA
  • Experience with cloud security, provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Experience extracting pertinent security data from SIEM solutions and cloud audits, logs, and reports
  • Strong understanding of system and cloud hardening principles
  • In-depth understanding of security compliance
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Knowledge of micro service architectures, Kubernetes deployments
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation
  • Experience with application and infrastructure scaling and deployments
  • Experience working together with dispersed teams to facilitate the orderly execution of proposed project plans
