About the role
Join a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future of software development with Atlassian. This role will be tasked with bridging the gap between our products and customer engineering organizations, and you'll be driving GTM for AI to improve developer workflows and code quality across our portfolio. As part of this role, you'll generate customer insights that drive product strategy, execute comprehensive go-to-market plans, and foster growth through impactful marketing campaigns. This is a highly cross-functional role that collaborates with product, engineering, sales, PR, analyst relations and other teams to drive growth.
What You'll Do

  • Lead with vision: As a principal lead, you'll help define and execute the vision for our developer solutions marketing strategy, including the integration of AI-driven solutions. You'll take ownership of building the Dev AI GTM strategy in the context of our developer solutions. You will drive initiatives that elevate Atlassian's developer engagement and market presence through a combination of content, events, sales enablement, community, and more.
  • Inspire Through Storytelling: With a deep understanding of developer needs and AI capabilities, you'll craft compelling narratives that resonate with our audience. Your ability to empathize with developers will differentiate Atlassian's offerings and enhance engagement across our platforms.
  • Drive Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize your expertise in data analysis to derive actionable insights and guide strategic decision-making. You'll synthesize user feedback and market trends to inform product positioning, refine go-to-market strategies, and promote AI-driven features that optimize the developer experience.
  • Manage Complex Projects: Oversee and coordinate highly interdependent, multifaceted projects, ensuring alignment across teams and adherence to timelines. Your organizational skills will be critical in managing resources effectively and executing on our strategic initiatives.
  • Foster Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Product, Developer Relations, Engineering, Communications, Design, and Marketing teams. You will spearhead the launch of new developer-centric features and AI programs, maximizing adoption and enhancing brand sentiment.
  • Drive Sales Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Sales team to establish and enhance strategic partnerships that support our developer products and AI solutions. You'll work with sales enablement to create training programs and materials that empower sales teams to effectively communicate our offerings to potential clients.


Responsibilities

  • Developer Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to expand our developer audience and drive adoption of our new AI for developer solutions. This includes mapping the marketing funnel, conducting extensive research to understand the developer persona, establishing success metrics, and determining optimal channels for engagement.
  • Positioning and Messaging: Create compelling product narratives and value propositions that highlight the unique benefits of the Atlassian developer experience and AI capabilities. Ensure messaging consistency across all channels and iterate based on developer feedback and insights.
  • Execution and Advocacy: Lead the execution of your go-to-market plan by partnering with key stakeholders to launch innovative developer features and AI programs. Act as a voice of the developer within Atlassian, ensuring their needs and feedback influence our product roadmap.
  • Content Creation and Enablement: Develop and oversee the production of developer-focused marketing collateral, including blogs, social media content, demos, and technical resources that showcase AI innovations. Collaborate with technical evangelists to create educational materials, webinars, and community events.
  • Sales and Partner Enablement: Work closely with sales and technical teams to develop targeted training strategies that empower them to effectively communicate our developer offerings and AI benefits. Build strong partnerships with external stakeholders to expand our market reach and enhance the value proposition for our developer products.


Who You Are
We're seeking a highly accountable, versatile PMM with the following considerations:
Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, developer relations, or related fields, with a strong emphasis on B2B environments.
  • 5+ years of marketing or go-to-market experience, particularly in roles focused on developer products or technology solutions, including AI applications.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for technical audiences.
  • Strong project management capabilities, adept at coordinating multiple workstreams and fostering collaboration across diverse teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of developers' needs and preferences, with a track record of engaging and advocating for the developer community.
  • Experience in software, technology, or financial services industries, particularly with developer tools and AI innovations.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products and the ability to leverage this knowledge to drive strategic marketing initiatives.


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $200,900 - $267,800
Zone B: $180,800 - $241,100
Zone C: $166,700 - $222,300
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
