We are looking for a Summer Mechanical Engineering intern to design, test, and implement key hardware components for our humanoid.
Responsibilities:
- Design parts in 3D CAD that satisfy load conditions, industrial design form factor, and durability requirements.
- Design and build test stands. Support the mechanical engineering and systems integration teams with hands-on testing.
- Create technical drawings adhering to GD&T standards to ensure accurate fits between tightly toleranced parts.
- Build new designs and test their performance against our internal designs and industry benchmarks.
Requirements:
- Must submit a portfolio or website of relevant projects you have worked on and your role.
- Pursuing a mechanical engineering, robotics, or equivalent undergraduate degree having completed at least two years of your degree by the start of the internship
- Any 3D CAD software experience
- Experience designing and building prototypes
- Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for your design process.
- Passion for robotics
Bonus Qualifications:
- CATIA V6 Experience
- Basic understanding of controls, electrical engineering or embedded software
- Basic programming ability
- Familiar with electric motors and gearboxes
- Familiar with simulation and analysis, such as FEA or Matlab
